Stuff I Love: Weather Alert Radio

In light of the thunderstorm weather that we’ve been having the past couple days, I have decided to dedicate today’s post to weather safety. When one lives in the crazy clime of Minnesota, one must take certain precautions to stay safe–a weather alert radio is of the utmost importance of precautions!
I have had a weather alert radio on my “to buy” list for over a year now. I recently traded in some of my old college textbooks on’s textbook buyback program in order to receive a gift card money to spend towards anything on (it’s an excellent program and I highly recommend it!). Two days ago, I finally bought a weather alert radio for our home.
It’s a Midland Weather Alert Radio and it has all of the required certifications–S.A.M.E. technology, NOAA, etc…
I love it! (Nevermind my cat Trigger at the edge of the picture)
It was super easy for me to program my state and county, the current time, and what type of alert I wanted to receive, among other things. If you’re in the market for a weather alert radio, I highly recommend this one!
As Ian Leonard on Fox 9 News says, “Stay sky safe!”

    1. Not yet… I have got to make sure it is actually programmed correctly, because after the storms rolled through last night, I think we still were in a thunderstorm watch and I didn’t hear a peep out of it…
